One day I decided to strip some paper off the old wall. It must have had 15 coats of modern emulsion on it, but the paper was starting to peel at the corners, and I wanted a fresh start. I discovered beneath the layers o paint, a horrible looking dingy old wallpaper in the most hideous green. I got rid of it, scrubbed the wall, filled it, and painted over 3 coats of white.<br />Now I'm thinking maybe I exposed myself and anyone else around to arsenic! I don't recall feeling particularly ill at the time though. But I always got joint aches in this house.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745893693457784689.post-51920004362495839662016-06-19T07:20:17.396-07:002016-06-19T07:20:17.396-07:00As always interesting and enjoyed you posts. As always interesting and enjoyed you posts.Lindsayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07716003019499843582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745893693457784689.post-2389229339145494312016-05-01T23:44:39.539-07:002016-05-01T23:44:39.539-07:00I read a version by Jackie French. He refuses to eat until they move back from England to Scotland and live with someone. In that he dies of old age, probably, because he doesn't die in it, though it says that he is old.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745893693457784689.post-23010363439850737162016-04-28T06:33:04.570-07:002016-04-28T06:33:04.570-07:00Are the cat shoes 18th century? The men who opposed female suffrage were spot on, one needn't do more than look about oneself to see it. Can you seriously maintain that the shameless, vicious, cold-blooded and often outright murderous modern woman is superior to her humble and modest Victorian ancestors? The restrictions placed on them were indeed for their own good, rather like not letting a child drive or play with knives. Female suffrage is only another manifestation of the ancient war waged by the serpent and his followers against all law, all hierarchy and rightful order. Feminism is nothing more than the Marxian doctrine of class warfare applied to the relations between the sexes. The result is nothing but misery for all. What have these modern women used all of their "rights" for? They avail themselves of them in order to commit crimes for which they would have been rightfully punished in better saner times. They engage in disgusting public exhibitionism wearing "clothes" which no inmate of a 19th century house of ill-repute would have dared to wear. They make use of liberal laws to break up their own families and extort the man who was stupid or unfortunate to have married them (that is if they marry in the first place and don't simply engage in concubinage), and they murder their own unborn children when they prove to be an impediment to the pursuit of a life of dissipation. As Our Lord said "By their fruits you shall know them." Feminism and that which produced it are evil trees that bring evil fruit. May those whose minds are darkened correspond with the graces which God in His mercy deigns to send them before it is too late for their souls.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745893693457784689.post-8554592409969650032016-03-27T10:02:38.662-07:002016-03-27T10:02:38.662-07:00Totally double standards! Only had two white cats and they were very different in temperament and attitude as they were from the black cats. How big and how furry a cat was seemed to influence activity more than color. We had a striped cat who oversaw every bit of repair work. A couple of cats of different colors who would greet us at the door.Siamese cats seemed to talk a great deal and the Maine Coon and the Angora were equally as laid back . One black cat hated to be confined in a box-- he was a Ripper and Roarer in any container. Another black cat slept the whole time in a carrier and would even go in one for a nap.
